Mr. Ben Barber is constantly
roaming the globe for inspiration while designing new patterns to add

Elegant Linen was established
in 1975 by Mr. Benjamin Barber, a pioneer in the ever evolving world
of home fashion and fine linens. Teaming up with his financially acute
business partner, Mr. Richard Citron, Mr. Barber opened his first store
of the Elegant Linen empire, located at 5719 New Utrecht Avenue, at
the corner of 58th Street in Brooklyn, NY. Two additional locations
followed located at 4801 13th Avenue, corner 48th Street, in Brooklyn,
NY, and 6764-B Route 9 South in Howell, NJ. With more retail locations
being planned for the immediate future, Elegant Linen intends to be
your one stop shopping mecca for all your linen needs. At a time when
most home textile resources are curtailing domestic operations, Elegant
Linen is expanding. We are doubling our machinery in order to bolster
our manufacturing capabilities in the U.S. Elegant Linen occupies a
square block of manufacturing facilities with unsurpassed production
capabilities, thus expediting one of its goals to be a full service
provider to the high-end wholesale linen market. "We may be a small
company, but we run a big operation," says Mr. Barber.

a well deserved reputation for custom linen work. We provide the quality
and specialized details that distinguish ourselves above other rival
companies, an accomplishment other enterprises are unable to match.
In addition, Elegant Linen
is singularly able to expertly and efficiently service an array of heavy
volume custom and high end clients. A tremendous source of pride is
our new manufacturing plant that boasts the most state of the art Swiss
embroidery machines, as well as special compact sheet cutting machines
which are capable of producing 1200 sets an hour. These capabilities
allow Elegant Linen to experiment with fashion details like shirring
and pleating, brocade and crochet treatment, adding extra wide flanges
and scalloped edges to bed sets, and incorporating custom design elements
like personalized monogramming on flat sheets and bath towels. Our in-house
manufacturing operations gives the company greater quality control and
flexibility, crucial to the high-end markets and particularly important
to specialty stores.
Although our largest volume
category is sheeting, Elegant Linen's product assortment offers an elite
line of superior quality mattress pads, bed skirts, shams, duvet covers,
down and down-alternative bedding, bath towels, table linens, crib and
juvenile furnishings, matching lampshades and upholstered headboards,
and other bedroom decor. We also offer matching accessory pieces, such
as accent pillows and window coverings, for a competely coordinated
look.
